Own a Unique Silver Deuce Case... for Charity

Following the cancellation of Wakefield 2020, this is your chance to own a unique and very special RISC OS item – whilst helping us support Wakefield Hospice.

Help the Hospice

Thank you to everyone who made a bid for the case. The auction is now closed, but it is still possible to make a donation to the Hospice through our JustGiving page – all donations go direct to the charity.

Wakefield 2020 was to be WROCC’s 25th Acorn & RISC OS show. To help us celebrate, Andy Marks of RISCOSbits had produced a very special first prize consisting of a silver edition Deuce case for the Raspberry Pi 3, with an alternative side panel for a Pi 4.

The case is silver coloured, with the Club’s acorn logo on the lid and the Wakefield 2020 show banner engraved on the side – which we believe makes it unique.

Our intention had been to offer the case as first prize in the draw, but COVID-19 had other ideas. The cancellation of the show also prevented us from running the charity stall, which over the years has helped the Club raise over £20,000 for the Hospice.

Since charities like the Hospice are currently struggling to fundraise, we auctioned the case in September 2020 and donated the money raised to them. Whilst the auction is now closed, it is still possible to make a donation to the Hospice through our JustGiving page.

In addition, donations from all members of the RISC OS community, and anyone else who would have visited the show in April, will also be gratefully received.

Thank you to everyone who placed bids and donated money in aid of a very good cause!
